Overview

Friends of KSLM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organized to support charitable and educational community outcomes in the Willamette Valley. We collect only the information we need to process donations, respond to grant applications, communicate with supporters, and improve our website. We do not sell personal information.

Information we collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Contact information — name, email address, phone number, and organization name when you fill out a form or sign up to receive updates.
  • Grant application information — organization details, mission summary, community served, support requested, event details, timeline, volunteer or donation needs, and any supporting documents you upload.
  • Donation information — payment details are collected directly by our payment processors (Stripe and Zeffy). We receive a record of the donation amount, date, frequency, and donor contact information needed for receipts and record-keeping.
  • Technical information — browser type, device information, IP address, pages visited, and similar data collected through standard web logs and security tools such as Cloudflare Turnstile.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process and acknowledge donations, including sending tax receipts.
  • Review and respond to Community Impact Grant applications.
  • Communicate with you about programs, events, workshops, and supporter opportunities.
  • Coordinate nonprofit events and volunteer opportunities submitted through the site.
  • Maintain accurate nonprofit and donor records required for 501(c)(3) compliance.
  • Protect the security and integrity of our website and users.
  • Improve our website, outreach, and community impact programs.

Donor data handling

Donations on this site are processed by Stripe and Zeffy. When you donate, you are subject to the privacy policy and terms of the payment processor you choose. Friends of KSLM receives the information necessary to fulfill the donation, issue a receipt, and maintain required financial records.

We use donor information to send thank-you messages, annual giving summaries, and occasional updates about our work. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contacting us.

Grant-form data handling

The Community Impact Grant application collects information about your organization, mission, and needs. This information is used to evaluate alignment with our public, written criteria and to communicate with applicants about next steps.

Application materials may be reviewed by our Board of Directors or authorized review committees. We do not share grant applications publicly or with unrelated third parties except as required by law or with your consent.

Supporting documents uploaded with an application are stored securely and used only for the review process. We ask applicants not to include unnecessary sensitive personal information in application fields or attachments.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep our website secure and functional. We may also use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve content and navigation.

Cloudflare Turnstile may be used on forms to verify that submissions come from humans and to protect against spam. This service may collect technical information such as your IP address and browser characteristics.

Third-party services

We rely on trusted service providers to operate our website and programs:

  • Stripe — payment processing for one-time and recurring donations.
  • Zeffy — preferred donation processing link.
  • SendGrid — email delivery for receipts, confirmations, and application correspondence.
  • Cloudflare — website security, performance, and Turnstile verification.
  • Lovable Cloud / Supabase — backend database, authentication, and storage for website data.

These providers have their own privacy policies and security practices. We select providers that align with nonprofit standards and reasonable data-protection expectations, but we do not control their independent operations.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Donation records are retained for tax and accounting purposes. Grant applications are retained for program review, reporting, and compliance purposes.

When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. This includes encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls for administrative accounts, and secure hosting through Lovable Cloud.

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to maintain protections appropriate for the information we handle.

Your privacy choices

You may:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request corrections to inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements.
